New Batman: Arkham City screens will improve your day 100% (after breaking its spine from the shadows) (Batman: Arkham City)
Posted on February 02, 2011Don’t worry, it happens to us all. You’ve made it halfway through the week, surviving the attritional slog of Monday and bravely pushing through to the relative levitity of Tuesday, but now you’ve realised that it’s Wednesday, the furthest possible point from any weekend, and you can barely bring yourself to think, such is the pain that will be inflicted if you do.
You’re probably reading this from under a duvet, and you’re very probably thinking that the only thing that could possibly give you reason to go on with the rest of this accursed day would be a few new Batman: Arkham City screenshots, showing Batman doing all kinds of cool Batman things in some beautifully grimy environments. Well fear not! Such things have arrived.
Batman. What a goddamn hero.

Posted on January 24, 2011
Konami has revealed that the next entry of the Silent Hill series will hit the PS3 and Xbox 360 this Autumn. Titled Silent Hill: Downpour, the game has players in the role of a recently escaped prison inmate who stumbles upon Silent Hill and the many mysteries that are hidden in the dark and grim town. Earlier this month we were greeted to some new details on the game which included the heavy emphasis on water and the in-game transport method of taking the Silent Hill …

First Screens Leaked For X-Men: Destiny
Posted on January 19, 2011
Last year, Silicon Knights (Too Human and Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem) announced that it was working on X-Men Destiny for Activision. Last night some of the game’s first screens leaked onto the Internet. They don’t leave us with the best first impression of the game.
French site Gamekyo posted these screens for X-Men Destiny. They show off Gambit, Quicksilver, and what looks like one of Silicon Knight’s player-created characters. Sadly, the game looks like its still too early in development, and probably wasn’t ready to be shown. We’re still eager to hear about how the game plays, and will keep you posted as more information becomes available.
Seriously, that guy looks like a dork. Surely Marvel has never done anything so silly.

Celebrate Tolkien’s B-Day With A Pair Of War In The North Screens
Posted on January 03, 2011
Today marks the birthday of Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien. Don’t worry if you didn’t get him anything — he’s been dead since 1973. His legacy continues to live, through his books, film adaptations, and the upcoming Lord of the Rings: War in the North game from Warner Bros. and Snowblind Studios.
Warner has released a pair of new screens for the game today, to mark Tolkien’s birthday. Enjoy!

New Killzone 3 Screenshots — Helghan Troopers With Flamethrowers
Posted on December 18, 2010Brand new Killzone 3 screenshots have been released and they look amazing. Killzone’s developer Guerrilla Games is making sure KZ3 is bigger and better than Killzone 2 and that becomes obvious with these screenshots. They show off some of the more intense battles in the game. The images also show off the Helghan troopers who are equipped with flamethrowers. If you’re as excited for this game as we are, then make sure to check out our Killzone 3 single player preview. Killzone 3 is a PS3 exclusive set to be released on February 22, 2011.

New Resistance 3 Screens Arrive, Game Playable Start To Finish
Posted on December 14, 2010
The third installment in Insomniac’s apocalyptic shooter franchise has been in development for two years. A couple years is exactly how long the company’s turn-around on games used to be prior to Resistance 3. Starting with this second sequel, Sony offered Insomniac an extra year to polish the entire experience. A year of tightening and cleaning up s is a lot. And if these pictures are any indication, the game is already looking incredible.
Community manager James Stevenson recently fielded some questions in the NeoGAF forums:
“…we have to be careful about discussing exactly where we are in dev… but we totally have a lot of content done (2 years of dev so far) w/ a lot of polishing to go.the game is playable start to finish on disc though, which is pretty insane for an Insomniac game w/ this much time left.”
He also mentions that more is going to be discussed on their Full Moon Show podcast.
Check out the new screenshots in the media gallery below. They show Joe Capelli enduring a Chimera ambush while boating through a flooded town. My favorite picture is the one with Capelli shotgunning a grim in midair.
When we saw Resistance 3 for our November cover story, we were very impressed with how far along they were. Now that we know it’s playable from start to finish, our excitement for Chimera-killin’ just increased dramatically.
