Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Autolog Photo Contest

Posted on December 18, 2010

The first Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Autolog Photo contest was a huge success. You guys did such an amazing job, we had to extend it a week just to do it justice.

Now we’re following it up with an even bigger and better version. This time we’re getting the whole Need for Speed community involved to decide who’s photo really deserves to be declared the winner. One thing hasn’t changed though – the winner is once again going to walk away with a Limited Editioneed for Speed Hot Pursuit PS3.

It’s the holiday season all around the world, and we want to see you bring the holiday spirit to the streets of Seacrest County. It could be snow-lined mountain roads, a specific combination of car colors, or perhaps even cops and racers sitting side-by-side, putting aside their differences. Whatever comes to mind when you think of the holidays, we want to see a Need for Speed version of it!

Take all of your photos in game. Any edits made are only acceptable if done with the in-game Photo Mode tools. Log into Autolog on the web and click on the button with the little camera on it labelled Photos. Download, screen grab, or do what you’re comfortable with and upload the picture to Twitpic, then blast it out on your Twitter account!

We’ll take all the entries we receive until midnight on January 5th 2011 and divide them into photo albums on the Official Need for Speed Facebook page. From there, the contest is in your hands. Like, comment and share the photo that you like best from each album. We’ll take the winner of each album and put them into another album for you to vote on. We’ll keep at it until there’s only one picture left standing.

- @needforspeed and #AutologPhotos must be in your tweet
– No limit to the number of submissions per person! Go wild!
– Contest ends , January 6th @ 12AM PST
– Be creative and have fun with it!

GT5 Vs. NFS Hot Pursuit Comparison – Which One Is In First Place?

Posted on November 30, 2010

Gran Turismo 5 or Need For Speed Hot Pursuit? Which one will you buy? GT5 puts players in the driver seats of over 1,000 cars from standard models to supercars and in Hot Pursuit, players drive the world’s most high performance cars at incredible speeds. We know both games are different where GT5 plays like a driving simulator and Hot Pursuit brings high speed action to the racing genres, however, gamers might need a little help to make this decision. Luckily, we are here to present you with a comparison video showing the graphics, gameplay, and authenticity of both racing games. Which racing title are you going to pick up?

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit PC patch to bring law-breaking bugs to a stop

Posted on November 27, 2010

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit‘s dev team has been combing the code of the game for some additional features and bugfixes, and both of those are set to peel out in the title in a patch next week. The patch should lay down an EMP on issues with multi-core CPUs, pop a spike strip on some runaway rain and snow effect issues, and set up a roadblock for a few other crashes and problems, stopping them in their tracks.

One issue that won’t get fixed: the obsession born from the game’s Autolog feature as you tryto beat your friends’ times by just a few more seconds. The developers have decided that it’s a personal problem, so you’ll have to patch yourself on that one.

We all knew that Autolog was something special, but you guys are proving that it’s going to change racing games forever. The dev team has put together a pack of 3 supercar convertibles – the Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible, the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster , and the Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible Final Edition. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Mobile Code Giveaway!

Posted on November 24, 2010

The need for speed doesn’t wait for you to get home and settled on your couch before it hits. That powerful urge to feel the roar of engines and see the world blur around you can strike at any time. On the commute to work, while waiting in the line-up at the cafeteria, maybe in the middle of class.

Don’t worry speed junkies, we’ve got you covered. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit on the iPhone and iPod Touch lets you get your adrenaline fix anywhere, anytime. Stop racers cold in high-speed police cars and lay down the law with roadblocks and spike strips. Fry the racer’s electrical system with an EMP lock. Challenge a friend to a head-to-head Cop vs. Racer showdown via local WiFi or Bluetooth.

Our friends at EA Mobile have hooked us up with 100 codes for Need for Speed Hot Pursuit on iPhone and iPod Touch, and we want to share the love. We’ll be handing out one code each day, every day on Twitter. Sometimes we might just post the code and let you guys race to be the first person to punch it in. Sometimes we might ask for you guys to do something a little more specific, like post a picture or beat a race time. Either way, the codes can drop at any time, so you better follow us on Twitter at @NeedforSpeed to make sure you know when the code is up for grabs!

These codes are only valid in the United States.

Pagani vs Lamborghini: Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

Posted on November 20, 2010

A couple of weeks ago we told you about a rare live-action car chase that Need for Speed filmed in the Italian Alps. It involved a Pagani Zonda Cinque and a Lamborghini Murcielago Interceptor, arguably two of the world’s most beautiful cars. We had the head of marketing, Keith Munro, come on the NFS Podcast to tell you about his behind-the-scenes account of how the shoot went down. Well, the wait is over. The video is complete and it was worth. the. wait.

Check out the video and, well, enjoy (but let’s be honest – that shouldn’t be too hard…)
