Stash Your Playstation Move Controllers in Style With Nyko’s Charge Station.

Overall Feeling:

The slickest Move charger we’ve seen so far. Works just as good as it looks!

One of my biggest annoyances with the Playstation Move is controller management. The round design of the controllers makes them awkward to store and charging them is a huge hassle. If you have a newer PS3, you only have two USB ports, so charging four controllers is not possible, and having to rely on a PC or other USB source for charging is not so convienent. Thankfully Nyko has developed an incredibly slick solution to your PS3 Move controller woes .

Latest PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter Video Shows Off SOCOM 4

Posted on February 12, 2011

In just less than two weeks Sony will be launching the Sharp Shooter controller add-on for the PlayStation Move.  The first major Move add-on released by Sony, the Sharp Shooter potentially marks a big change in how we play fps and third-person action games that utilize the PS Move. For the people who don’t pay attention to plastic based console add-ons, the Sharp Shooter is a housing/controller in which the PS Move and a Nav Con can be placed inside, thus allowing the player to hold a small gun while they play games like Killzone 3 or SOCOM 4.

Sony open to expanding PlayStation Suite to additional platforms

Posted on February 01, 2011

Sony’s PlayStation Suite service will have somewhat humble beginnings as a delivery system for PSOne Classics on Android and will, of course, be supported on the NGP, but Sony is looking to cast a wide net with the program over time. The first step to bringing the PlayStation brand out into the world is to open it up to as many Android users as possible.

“We have a completely open stance,” Hirai said (translated by Andriasang), “With carriers and with handset makers.” Which means it’s not just phones like Sony Ericsson’s ephemeral Xperia Play that will benefit from the PlayStation Suite, but other, buttonless Android phones that people … probably shouldn’t try to play PlayStation games on.

After Android phones, Hirai is looking to move to Android tablets. Following that, he said, “We’re not ruling out PSS even on products like Sony Internet TV Powered by Google (Google TV) if adoption rate increases, or if it will help push adoption greatly.” Sony is “focusing first” on Android, with an eye toward other operating systems including iOS and Windows at a later date, because “we don’t have the resources to make it compatible with everything from the start.”

That’s a lot of things that aren’t PlayStations running PlayStation games!

A more official comment on the rumored PlayStation phone

Posted on November 23, 2010
So when could the PlayStation phone possibly be announced?

Do you remember those PSP phone details and prototype images that popped up last month?  You know, the device which partly seemed to be fake since it was too good to be true and in a way was slightly befuddling in a business sense. Well, we have yet another round of news concerning a possible PSP phone and this time it’s not a rumor as it comes from one of the top dogs at Sony Ericsson.

Deadliest Warrior impales the PlayStation Store today

Posted on October 05, 2010

Spike Games’ surprisingly fun and unsurprisingly gory downloadable fighter, Deadliest Warrior: The Game, will make its way to the PlayStation Store later today in the next PSN update. The fighter, which arrived on Xbox Live in July, will cost PSN shoppers $9.99. It may also cost them an arm and a leg. And a head. Or any combination of those appendages.

According to an announcement on PlayStation.Blog, developer Pipeworks Software is making plans for a three-character DLC expansion to the game. The only fighter announced so far is the “Rajput,” which, according to Wikipedia, is “a member of one of the major Hindu Kshatriya (warrior) groups of India and are a ruling class of the Indian subcontinent.” Hey, we learned something today! Thanks, video games.

Sony Prepping A Big Launch For The New PSP

Posted on September 28, 2010

There are increasing reports of development kits for Sony’s talked-about new PlayStation Portable, which hasn’t been officially announced yet, but is expected to appear next year.

Develop Online has a report that Sony is bombarding first- and third-party developers with the kits in order to hit the ground running with software when the handheld comes out. Unfortunately, the article does not shed any more light on the unit’s features, which are rumored to include smart phone capabilities among other things.

Sony would be smart to try and open the development flood gates for this new PSP, as engaging software for the original unit was one of the few weaknesses to an otherwise attractive handheld.

Survival Versus Returns To Left 4 Dead 2 This Week

Posted on September 27, 2010

Fans of Left 4 Dead 2’s mutations can look forward to a returning mode this week. Survival Versus debuted back in July, and tasks teams with surviving longer than their opponents. As Valve describes:

The first Survivor team sets the time. The second team tries to beat it. Then the first team tries to beat the second team’s time. Then the second team tries to beat the first team’s time. And then the… you get the idea. Rounds keep switching until someone fails to beat the previous time.

If you haven’t popped L4D2 into your 360 recently, this might be a fun reason to dust it off and slay a few (hundred) zombies. Between this mode and Dead Rising 2’s release this week, there should be scores of undead meeting their end this week.

Report: CCP's World of Darkness MMO Teased at Fan Event, Due No Sooner Than 2012

Posted on September 27, 2010

EVE Online developer CCP Games has shed a little dimmed, moody light on World of Darkness, its mysterious MMO adaptation of White Wolf’s pen-and-paper RPG setting, at White Wolf’s The Grand Masquerade event.

The MMO “will have a focus on player politics and social interaction,” Ardulf’s Lair reports (via Massively), collecting the titbits of information trickling out of the show. Only vampires will be playable, it’s said, though the World of Darkness setting also houses mages, werewolves and other creatures in its dark version of our modern world.

The MMO is based upon White Wolf’s Vampire: The Masquerade–rather than the latest setting, Vam…
